OBITUARY

Lesley Anne Lee

April 21, 1944November 28, 2019

We mourn the passing of Lesley Anne Lee who passed away suddenly on the morning of November 28, 2019 at the age of 75.

Lesley was a loved member of our family and a loving friend to many. Lesley was born in Surrey, England, and travelled on the Queen Mary to New York with her mother, two sisters and niece in 1952. Her family settled in Nanaimo, B.C. where Lesley received her education. After extensive travelling, she bought a home in St. Catherine’s and started work in Toronto as a legal secretary. A tragic vehicle accident rendered Lesley a quadriplegic in 1983.

In spite of many obstacles, she lived her life fully, uncomplaining and always with a beautiful smile on her face. Lesley was a continuous learner, auditing university courses, and taking language lessons. She loved to entertain, hosting friends and family, supporting family functions, and attending different shows and events. Lesley continued to travel, enjoying cruises travelling to Alaska, Russia, Japan, China and most recently to Hawaii.

Lesley is survived by her devoted care assistant and dear friend Shirley Valoria, her sisters Mary Lee Walters and June Townley, her nieces Jennifer Iten, Penny and Jane Townley, and her nephews David Iten, Andrew and John Townley. Lesley will be greatly missed. A celebration of Lesley’s life will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm at First Memorial Funeral Services & Boal Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, BC.

Lesley joined our family in St Catharines after meeting our father, Chris in the early 1980’s. She is fondly remembered by Joanne, Andrew and Simon for her kindness, her warm smile and her generosity. I remember her visit to Eastbourne, U.K when she last stayed with her elderly aunt in 2001. We offer our condolences to her friends and to her family who we know will miss her dearly. Rest in Peace, Lesley

Lesley has meant so very much to our family over the many years we have known and loved her.
How she loved to meet up for something grand or just for a coffee and a chat!
Her beauty and grace filled all our hearts and she will walk with us forever!

I usually see her at least annually and I had never seen her complain about anything though she became handicapped after her auto accident in Ontario then moved to Vancouver to live the rest of her life.

She's my great friend and I am very sad to receive such notice about her death and will no longer be able to see her again.
