Janet I am so sorry to read your news. I certainly had not expected your mum's  condition to move so fast. I feel for your loss... 

I never met your mum of course, but if the parent reflects the child, the world has lost a spirited, caring, and all round wonderful human being.

Oh my, I am sitting here weeping.  I'm so honoured to hear you say that your mum loved me ... because I certainly loved her deeply.
Like you, I feel she would feel good about slipping away quickly and being as comfortable as possible.  She was a mighty proud and courageous woman ... and gave so generously of her love.  
I will miss her very much.
 
Kathy, with everything that's been going on, I am very appreciative of you keeping me informed about your mum's situation.  When I told Jeffie a couple of days ago she, too, was very saddened.
 
Would you please let me know what you plan in the way of a 'formal' goodbye tribute to your mum?

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about your mum. Our mothers are who we are, they shape and  mould us best as they can.Then they set us free, I'm without words to describe the feelings of sympathy I wish to warm your soul with at this time of sorrow. The beautiful obituary that you wrote of your mum was a treat to read, I'm sure your mum would have been delighted to see it too! Your mum was a very thoughtful, caring woman who obviously did allot in her community. She raised a special daughter, and I can say that because I know you. You have truly a wonderful heart and I know as a mum, that was her gift to you. 

Im so sorry for your loss, my heartfelt thoughts are with you.

Hi Kathy & Janet (& Susan & Doug) and families,
I was so sorry to hear about your mom! I hear she got sick quite quickly and so it was somewhat unexpected. I'm so grateful I got to see her at Patty's service (she was so cute and so with it) and at the restaurant on Janet and David`s birthdays.  It`s hard to lose a surviving parent but easy to be so grateful that we had them for so long, and that you were able to care so much for her in recent years.

Our thoughts continue to be with you and the rest of the family as you all make the life adjustments that follow the death of a parent. For me, it felt so weird to suddenly be an "adult orphan". Our best wishes to everyone as you enter another "year of firsts"...may you be granted the strength to carry forward with your own lives as your Mom would have insisted you did.

We're so sorry to have to say “good bye” to your Mom...at least for a while.  I don't have any details, but it seems that it was rather sudden, and for her I'm sure that was a blessing.  She really did live life to the fullest and from the obituary I learned how generous she and your Dad were and things she did (like ballet) that I did not know before.  I hope all those good memories of her will remain vibrant to you and the rest of the family.  We look forward to seeing all of you again and join in celebrating your Mom and Dad's anniversary.  What a fitting day you chose to celebrate her life.  A donation has been made to Zajac Ranch for Children in memory of your Mom. What a wonderful place the ranch appears to be. We are happy to pay tribute to your Mom by contributing to it. Thanks for the suggestion. Our thoughts have reflected on your Mom this past week and the many occasions where we have interacted through the years. I loved the obituary.  She was described perfectly.  A life well lived.

So sorry about the passing of your mom.  I spoke with her at Patty's service and other than the reduced energy level associated with our mother's ages, she appeared so healthy with no impression of her illness.  All the MacLennans will fondly remember her.

I just came across your mum's obituary in the globe and mail. It sounds as though she remained active and well  until very close to the end.

I remember her gracious manner, good humour, great meals, tolerance and kindness. Even though it's been years since I last saw you mother I'll miss he presence on the planet.

Really sad that lives have to end.

I learned only this morning of the passing of your Mom. It just seemed as if she was this indomitable strong lady who would just live on forever, being stylish, playing bridge, sewing marvelous clothes and being interested and  thrilled with her family and their achievements.  Memories well up and I always think of her as being the youngest most lovely Mom in the neighborhood. She always loved her family so much and stood loyally by her "brood" in the most admirable way. She was so proud of all of you!
