Maria Antonia Maglieri was born on October 2, 1933 along with her twin sister, Cristina Maglieri in the small town of Sepino, Campobasso, Italy. She lived in Italy with her parents and 3 sisters until she married her beloved husband, Vittorio Maglieri in 1958. Their daughter, Serafina (Sara) Maglieri, was born in 1960.
In 1963 , Maria, Vittorio and Sara immigrated to Montreal, Canada. Maria worked as a seamstress in a clothing manufacture for 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed vegetable gardening with her husband, cooking, entertaining her many friends and relatives. When Vittoria passed away in 2009, she remained in their cherished home for some time before finally deciding that it was best for her not to live alone and in 2014, she moved to North Vancouver to live with her daughter, Sara and son-in-law, Glenn Dagenais, and grand-daughter, Alisha Dagenais.
She enjoyed participating in the household until her failing health with advanced dementia necessitated moving to Evergreen House in April 2022..
