Louise was one of four daughters. She and her sisters Anne, Myrana, and Christa grew up together in Durban. They were close as children. Louise had an amazing mother, Anna Myburgh, referred to by her grandchildren as Nanna, who played a significant role in Louise’s and her children’s lives. Louise was an elementary school teacher in South Africa, for over 30 years. She loved children and was committed to education. Louise’s first husband, Cecil George Daniel Podmore, father to her three children, Lindy, Julie, and Kevin, passed away suddenly from cancer in his early 40’s. She later married Peter Court, also a teacher, for almost 30 years. They immigrated from South Africa to Canada in the mid 90’s, and have led a peaceful, happy life here since. Peter loved her dearly and was a selfless, devoted, caring husband. They were inseparable and he misses her deeply. He has been an amazing stepfather and role model to her children and grandchildren. Louise’s passion and love for her three children, Lindy, Julie, and Kevin was undeniable. She was a selfless, devoted mother and her children and family can attest to the fact that she was a strong and resilient woman. She was a loving, caring, devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren, Amy, Luke, Caleb, Ethan, Adam, and Wesley. She was a loyal and true friend and had many long-term friendships, including her ‘forever friend’, Margaret. She touched so many lives. Always ready to help, offer advice, and lend a listening ear. Louise loved to read, novel after novel, and was an avid gardener in her younger days. She enjoyed watching detective and true crime television shows and followed in her mother’s footsteps with sewing as one of her main hobbies.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; her children, Lindy, Julie, Kevin; her grandchildren, Amy, Luke, Caleb, Ethan, Adam, and Wesley; her son and daughter in-law, Beggi and Katrina. Louise played a massive role in all our lives. She will live forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
