Marie's family,
I just found out about Marie's death through the KEEF newsletter. What a shock! I last saw Marie in Feb when we went to see a photo exhibit of Kenyan studio pics at the MOA. Marie taught me so much about living in Kakamega; I will always think of her with great fondness and respect.

We have always admired Maria for her unselfish contribution to her family and in particular, her volunteer work in Africa. I am sure she will be sadly missed at KEEF as well.

I enjoyed working with Marie on the BCNU Council especially building the BCNU office in Burnaby. She was very dedicated to her work in Kenya. She was also very dedicated to her clients as a home care nurse. Marie will be greatly missed.

I'm so sorry and saddened to hear that your dear Mom passed away. We met when Marie joined the Soroptimist International of N & W Vancouver. She was such a dedicated, kind and giving person. We shared a lot of laughs over those years. My condolences to you and your families. My condolences on the loss of your mom. I was honoured and proud to call Marie a friend, and colleague, as a nurse, and a union activist. Even as she went to volunteer in Kenya, she continued to give of herself, her time, energy and knowledge.
She will be greatly missed.

Marie was my good friend in Kakamega I am very sad to hear of her death. She will have hundreds of people here who miss her due to the amazing amount of work she had done in this community. Personally she was always a supportive presence for me and I am grateful for that friendship and will miss he lively company. Goodbye dear Marie

Your Mom will be missed so very much by so very many people. She was a compassionate, brilliant, loyal friend. We shared many hilarious moments together as we raised Brent and David alongside the two of you. Our lives were richer because of her.
