Mum was predeceased by her loving husband “Ginger” in 1999 and by her granddaughter, Lisa in 2001.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Linda and Pauline, her grandchildren, Ian, Katie, Andrew, Philip, Brandon, Nicholas and Breanna, her great-children Abbie, Ella, Charlie, Addison, Kayden, Cohen, Caleb, Jorja, Ellie, Lachlan, Lane and Mary, and also by her “ex-sil” John and her devoted friends, Sven and Barb.
Her greatest joy and happiness came from her family and she will always be remembered for her love, caring and generosity. She loved her family deeply and was always there to help and support and was an inspiration to all.
Mum was an accomplished woman in her own right, an artist, talented designer and seamstress. She could be dressed in a ballgown attending a ball one day and fishing or fixing the roof at her beloved Lee Island cottage the next.
She was an incredibly strong woman, surviving the blitz in London during the war and then, in 1958 chose to emigrate to northern Ontario with its ensuing harsh winters. An extremely difficult choice to make, moving half way across the world with no support from family or friends, in the belief that it would give your family a better life.
Mum, grandma, GG held “family dinners” every Sunday (well into her 90’s), where food was plentiful, love and laughter overflowing, but never quite enough of her infamous “Yorkshires”!
She will be deeply and forever missed. There will be a family gathering at a later date.
