Norma Elizabeth Yardley

July 12, 1935 – December 27, 2019

Norma passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 27, 2019. She is greatly missed and loved by her husband of 61 years, Keith, daughters Alison (Glenn), Gillian (Harri) and grandson Damon. Norma was a graduate of Kitsilano Secondary and received her RN from the Vancouver General Hospital School of Nursing. Norma was a life-long nurse, working at VGH and LGH, and selflessly nursed friends and family alike through serious, sometimes terminal, illnesses. After raising her family, she returned to re-register her credentials and return to professional nursing. She worked as a private duty nurse and finished her career as scheduler at the BC Registered Nurses Directory. Lately, for almost five years, Norma has resided at Evergreen House in North Vancouver, lovingly cared for and offered companionship by many health care professionals, on 2 North. Thank you to two very special caregivers, Pamela who adopted Norma as her “Normie”, and Peggy, who provided the company she needed in the last while.

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held at 2pm, March 7th, 2020 at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver.
