Osborne was born in Rosseau, Ontario January 30, 1920 to Eva and Clarence Shaw.
In 1939 he moved with his family to Vancouver before joining the Canadian Signal Corps and serving in WWII. Following his service overseas, he returned to Vancouver and began a career as a draftsman in the architectural field.
In 1951 he married Doreen Rattray, a nurse, (originally of Salmon Arm, B.C.) and began their family life with a son Kenneth and daughter Debbie in the years following.
Os was an avid sportsman and photographer, spending much time in the outdoors fishing on the local rivers both in the Vancouver area and inland B.C. He enjoyed fishing outings and get-togethers with club colleagues of the Vancouver Angling & Game Club and the Totem Flyfishers.
After retirement, Os and Doreen took a major step by embarking on a nature and wildlife trip to Chile, Patagonia and the Antarctic followed a few years later by a trip to the High Arctic where they enjoyed the wildlife, birds and native cultures while documenting their adventures as they travelled.
Os’s later years slowed down but he loved to get out and see the sights he knew around Vancouver – still with camera in hand.
Osborne is survived by his brother Melville (wife Joan), son Kenneth (Yvette), daughter Debbie (Danny), grandchildren Michael, Alana (Dale), Benjamin, and Christopher, great-grandchildren Kyla and Spencer.
Heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. Dana Haaf and the wonderful caring staff at Berkley Care Center in North Vancouver.
