Priscilla Elizabeth Morrison passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver on October 27, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband Ian Morrison and is survived by her daughter Joanne Palmer, son Chris Morrison (Traci), 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren in addition to many other family members and friends.
Priscilla was a nurse and midwife in her native England before coming to Canada in the mid 1950s where she married her husband Ian and settled in North Vancouver. She worked as a nurse in the maternity department of St. Paul's hospital in Vancouver until she started her family.
Priscilla’s tastes varied from sports to the arts. An avid Canucks fan and supporter of the Vancouver Opera for over 60 years, she encouraged people to always try out a sport or art form before you said no to it.
Priscilla loved participating in sports and had from a young age at school in England. She could often be found playing hockey, lacrosse or badminton with her children and grandchildren. An avid hiker she did the Grouse Grind in her 60s and spent a lot of time hiking. The North Shore Mountains and Manning Park were her two favourite spots. Not satisfied with cross country skiing, which she took up in her late 60s and found a little boring, she took up snowboarding in her early 70s. She snowboarded on Seymour Mountain until the age of 85. She also kept active volunteering with the local vet walking dogs and her grandchildren loved to go with her to meet the dogs and walk them with her.
Her family remembers her as a loving Mum, Granny and G.G. (great granny) with a great sense of humour, and a strength of spirit. Priscilla’s sense of adventure had family members and friends, dog sledding, zip lining, ATVing, four wheeling up a mountain with her and many other fun adventures all planned by her.
She will be greatly missed by all who love her.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the nurses and doctors in the Lions Gate Hospital Cardiac ward for the kindness and care shown to Priscilla and the family during her final few days.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Priscilla’s memory to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or your local SPCA.
