My deep condolences to Brenda and family.  I just discovered the news today of Randall's passing.   Too little too late.
I have missed our many coffee-meets in West Van. over several years when he would be changing buses after work from Vancouver and heading home to Bowen.    At least we managed to get together a few times in the past couple of years when I returned for appointments.   I am happy that we shared so many ideas of mutual interest in media and technology during our time together.   I will never forget him - Victor

I met Randall when I moved back to Bowen in the early 2000s. I knew him in a volunteer capacity. He always struck me as a decent human being willing to help others and be engaged as much as he could. Enjoyed many conversations with him over the years and have fond memories of his kind spirit and general decency. Really sorry to hear of his passing. I just found out today.

Dear Brenda and Sophie,

We are thinking of you and hope that your celebration of life for Uncle Randall brought warm memories and comfort to you both. 

It was so good to see you a couple of summers ago and walk along the sea wall to catch up. I will cherish fond memories of staying with you on Bowen and in our childhood years, visiting you  in Deep Cove and North Van.

One of my earliest memories is of our '76 family visit driving across Canada. One evening in Grandma's basement, Uncle Randall made me an ink painting on a clam shell and it still sits on my desk today. As kids, Jill, Andrew, Jenny and I always looked forward to our visits to the Vancouver area, Blubber Bay and Victoria.

My condolences to Rob and your family and also Brenda and Sophie and your family. My connection with Randy goes back to UBC where I was in my last year of education and I was trying to decide where in BC I would do my teaching practicum. Randy suggested I go to Powell River on the Sunshine Coast. I had never been there before so when I arrived he introduced me to salmon fishing off Blubber Bay and lots of music and guitar playing with new friends who I still have to this day.  His friendship totally changed the path of my life and here I am still in Powell River enjoying my life because of him. Thank you and rest easy my friend.

Dear Brenda , Sophie, Rick and Rob:
We are sorry for your loss and ours as well. The photos bring back happy memories of our time together with Randall during our adolescent years when fishing, baseball and swimming in Blubber Bay filled our summer days. He was kind, patient, and generous with his time despite Rob's and my younger ages. My Mom use to say that Randy was like our grandfather Neen Lore. We will miss him .

So sorry to hear of Randy's passing. I remember my childhood at Blubber Bay  and what fun Randy was, building box kites and getting them to fly,  playing baseball, where it was so exciting when he was up to bat and could run like the wind and bring everyone home.

Most of all he was so kind and caring  to us little kids. He had a beautiful smile, calming voice and a good heart.

It's been a few years since I've seen Randall but I will always remember his beautiful smile. He was a patient, easygoing and practical man with a good heart and head. He was such a gracious host when I visited their wonderful homes on Bowen Island and in Deep Cove. Above all, he was a great husband and father. My heartfelt condolences to Brenda and Sophie.

I was sad to hear of cousin Randy's passing. It must be so difficult to lose such an important beacon in your lives.

Randy was always so patient and such wonderful fun whenever the Lee kids (Sandrea, Gloria,  Cyrena, Stephen, me and Wayne) were around. We were a handful for sure.

To Big Brother Randy,
Looking at pictures of us growing up in Blubber Bay brought back many fond memories of a time when life was simple, natural and comforting.  We went swimming, clam digging and fishing, often catching salmon or ling cod for dinner.  Your Kodak  camera captured memorable moments, which slowly appeared as we developed these black & while photos in our darkroom.  Building a plywood boat in our garage with you, Rick, Garry and Uncle Art, and later water skiing behind it, was an adventure.  The tree house you built in our backyard overlooking the bay gave us a great view of the ferry, tugboats and fishing boats going by.  Playing softball together for the Legion team with you in centrefield and me at shortstop, was always fun and exciting, especially when we won.  You made great catches in the field, and at bat you would turn triples into home runs with your speed.  Mom and dad were there to cheer us on.
As in life, you always watched the ball, played hard and played fair, and never made excuses when you were not on the winning side.  Thanks for helping me get settled in my first year at UBC, as you were completing your studies there.  And thanks for lending me your car for the drive from Vancouver to Whitehorse for my first job after graduation.  As a professional accountant for resource companies in BC, you were a team player, and your 2007 award for outstanding achievement and distinguished service was well-deserved.  Throughout life, you have been a kind, thoughtful and helpful brother who has treated your friends, family and relatives with this same kindness and goodness.  You have been strong and brave in the face of adversity, and will always be remembered with love and affection.

Brother Randall,
When we were very young, Mom often took us by street car to stay the weekends at Aunt May, Uncle Martyn and Aunt Mary’s house on West Broadway. Our grandfather Lore Neen also lived there.  I remember having fun with the player piano. We celebrated some of our birthdays there with our cousins. You were a toddler when we moved from our Grandfather’s building in Vancouver to a shack in the middle of Blubber Bay on Texada Island.  Uncle Art taught us to swim and fish when we were quite young. You were a good swimmer both under and above water. You no doubt remember when we almost caught the biggest ever ling cod, maybe as long as the boat. We didn’t have a gaff and you wisely suggested that grabbing it by the gills was not a good idea. Then there was the time we caught 39 fish in one hour and Mom made us clean them all. Strange, somehow we never did bring home that many fish from then on. Summer was fun when our many cousins stayed with us. There were lots of things we did together but the biggest project was to build a plywood boat by scaling up a sketch of “The Sunrise” that appeared in the weekend edition of  The Vancouver Sun.  I guess we didn’t realize that in the background our parents were working hard to ensure that our environment was secure and happy.
I am glad we were able to overlap at U.B.C. albeit in my last year.  The trajectory to our callings was not always a linear one.  However, we did find ours and you received your well-earned 2007 award for outstanding achievement in your profession. You have been kind, patient and thoughtful to me and my family, and indeed to all. I shall miss you.

So sorry to hear of Randy’s passing. (Never did call him Randall).  During our Texada days he was soccer coach to the neighbourhood kids, builder of kites, boats, and bobsleds. He was a water skiing teacher, ice dance partner (we weren’t very proficient), and singer of folk songs. Later on he was my tax and financial advisor. 
Most importantly, he was always a dear friend who will be sorely missed.
