Ranjit Kaur Hundal, mother of Rick (deceased) (Rosemary), Kitty, Paul (Anne), and Kanval (Ian) passed away peacefully at the age of 94. She will be missed by her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her many friends.
She was born in Mahilpur India. In her early years, Ranjit was a member of the Women's Auxiliary Corp during WW2 and was the first woman admitted to the Khalsa College. After her marriage to Ikbal Singh Hundal, she came to Canada, eventually settling in North Vancouver where she focused on raising her children. She returned to University (UBC) as a mature student to get a degree in Microbiology but her husband passed away before she could complete it. In order to support her four children she chose a long and successful career as a Laboratory Technician at the Provincial Labs.
She lived a happy, fulfilled life, in spite of the many challenges, and loved her community of friends and relatives from North Vancouver to India The service will be held Friday June 1st at 2:00 at Boal Chapel in North Vancouver.
