I just heard about your mom passing over and I wanted you all to know that I will say a prayer for her , hope that she is now with your dad and other family members, will heal and be ready soon to start a new journey.  I'm sure she is looking down at all of you and thanking you for being there for her over these past difficult years. 
I didn't know your mom well but I know how much Andrew and Dan loved her and I heard a lot of beautiful stories about her from these two sons.
I recall having lunch with Andrew and your mom at Steveston many years ago.  The two of them were talking about the war and your mother looked at me at one point and told me that one of the grandfathers had died, and had it been the other grandfather,   then neither her or Andrew would have been born, and therefore I would be sitting at this table talking to myself.    A very interesting, and unexpected comment.   She was very witty and took me by surprise a couple of times.  I would have loved to have been in her company more than the few times I was.
My thoughts are with all of you in this time of loss.
