It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter and sister Samantha Xiu Hua Lee on April 8th 2021 at the young age of 36 years.
Sam is survived by her father Wilson, mother Mae, brother Eric and sister Valerie; great aunts and uncles; uncle and aunt; cousins; great niece and nephew and nieces and nephews.
Samantha was a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts, English Literature & Psychology. Following that, she completed her Librarian Technician Certificate at Langara College. She started her career with the Vancouver Public Library in 2008 shelving books and later became a Library Assistant and eventually a Library Public Service Associate where she could share her love of books and literature with others she helped at the many library branches within the Vancouver Public Library.
Sam was always known to have a cheerful smile and outgoing personality. It was not unusual to find Samantha helping a stranger saying, “Come with me and we’ll get you something to eat.” Outside of work, Sam assisted many others in achieving their goal to run their first 10 km race as a volunteer Sun Run Leader.
Samantha’s loving and caring presence will be missed by many. We all miss you deeply and life will never be the same without you in it.
