It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce that Tera Lee Soper passed away on Monday July 22, 2024, in Vancouver BC at the age of 44 after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She spent her final hours surrounded by her closest loved ones.
Tera Lee Soper was born in Vancouver to Elizabeth (Leza) Muir and Dale Soper on July 19th, 1980, ready to take on the world with her headstrong personality. She brought an immense amount of joy to those around her. She was a kind, compassionate and beautiful soul. She had the kind of laugh that lit up the entire room. She was always the person to put others before herself and the first one to offer to help you put some furniture together too!
Tera always remained intensely positive throughout her journey and was always daydreaming of her next adventure, once she got over her health hurdles. One of her passions was country music, and when on road trips it was always her playlist on the radio, with her whole roster of favorites which often included her all-time favorite artist Kane Brown. She had planned to go down to Seattle in August to see him with her closest friends to dance and sing the night away. In honor of Tera, her friends and family are going in celebration of her love of country music, and we know it will be a special night for all of us. Tera loved to travel and see the world; she had this remarkable ability to make friends wherever she ended up in life. She also loved to read, knit and snowshoe but the biggest love and joy of her life was her daughter Raven.
Tera was an inspiration to all those she came into touch with. She never took no for an answer and displayed dedication and commitment in everything she took on. She was always there for others to listen to them and be part of whatever anyone needed of her. Her fighting spirit, fierce love and concern for all those around her will be dearly missed.
She is deeply missed by surviving members of her family including but not limited to her mother and stepfather, Leza and Don, her daughter Raven and her partner Iain, her beloved pets Lexi, Chloe and Sebastian. Tera was greeted in heaven by her father Dale, her grandparents and other relatives who predeceased her.
Tera's happiest moments were always spent fishing with her uncle Trent, listening to the calm ocean waves and watching the sunrises. We find comfort in knowing she is already on the ocean, watching for whales and reeling in a big one.
We now, will look for you on the water and in the sunrises.
A service to celebrate Tera’s life will be held on September 7th at 1:30 at Lynn Valley Community Recreation Centre located at 3590 Mountain Highway, North Vancouver.
