New Westminster home, with her daughter Terry and her son
George caring for her in the house she lived in near Queen’s
Park for 59 years.
Fay grew up in the Maritimes and eventually joined the Wrens,
( woman’s Navy in Halifax) where she met her husband, naval
officer Eric Rammell. They moved west to his homeland where
he worked on Vancouver Island as well as the interior of BC
raising two children. After a boating accident took Eric’s life in
1954, Fay raised her two children independently.
Fay was Clerical Supervisor at the Royal Columbian Hospital lab,
walking to the job she loved for 25 years. She enjoyed dancing,
skiing, golfing, tennis, bridge and loved puttering in her garden.
Fay adored her two grandchildren, Nicola and Coulter and was
the heart and soul of this small family. She loved and was loved by all of us.
We thank Dr. Yap and the New Westminster Palliative Care team for their wonderful end-of-life care.
