After a short illness and with family and close friends by her side in Vancouver General Hospital, Vilia found rest on Friday Jan 25th 2019.
Vilia was born in Barnet, UK to Ernest Howard Sadler and Marie Evelyn Sadler on 17th July 1945. After training and working in nursing in the UK, she came to Canada in 1967. Starting in Kingston she travelled west, working in Nelson and Powell River, gathering lifelong friends along the way, before settling in Vancouver. Vilia loved to travel and saw much of the world. When at home, pets, friends and music gave her a lot of joy. Whilst her life was in Vancouver she regularly travelled back to the UK to see family and was always there to support them.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her thoughtfulness and her strength of character. She is survived by her aunt Bessie, her brother Ian, her four nieces Jane, Kirsten, Clare and Ruth and her three grand-nieces Natalie, Martha and Harriet.
A celebration of her life is being held for friends and family at 10am on Wednesday 6th February at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, donations to BC & Alberta Guide Dogs in Vilia Sadler’s memory
