Zale is survived by his wife orilea, son Jud and wife Pimon, grandson Troy and wife Nicole and his grandson Timon.
He was born in Calmar, Alberta and eventually moved to Vancouver, the city he loved.
When he was 17 he joined the Navy. Upon finishing his stint, he returned to Vancouver and worked in the construction industry. After owning several companies, he bought what came to be known as Martell Brothers Roofing and Sheet Metal.He served on various committees in the Roofing and teh Sheet Metal industries and received many awards and accolades for his various services in advancing the industry.
Zale was an avid boater and spent many years exploring the waters of BC in his boat Z'z Xcape. He was a very active member of Burrard Yacht Club and was the commodore from 2007 to 2008.
Zale passed away at home on December 21st surrounded by his family who miss him deeply.
