I was going through some pictures today and came across a beautiful picture of Ruth. She was walking down the aisle with me on the occasion my daughter’s and her nephew’s wedding. 
I have many fond memories of Ruth and they are all related to her family. I always saw her as the Matriarch of the Harrington Clan. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and she, also, loved and respected others. 
We will miss you Ruth. You will not be forgotten.

I was very sad to learn of Ruth’s passing, which happened way too soon.  She was my second cousin and we had reconnected in recent years given our shared interest in the Wright family history.  It was great getting to know her.  Coincidentally my aged aunt and uncle, from the other side of my family, moved into Unionville Villa when Ruth was working for the Society.  Ruth said she would look in on them from time to time and when I remarked to her on how my uncle was sleeping during the daytime she explained that it was probably because he could finally relax, now that he had more help with my aunt’s care.  Ruth’s care and insight were very comforting.  Last time we were in touch we were going to get together for lunch but unfortunately it never happened.  Deepest condolences to Roger and family from cousin Alan and wife Sue.

We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn that Ruth had passed away.  

You were our wonderful, friendly, fun next door neighbours from our arrival in Richmond Hill in 1980, until you moved to “The Oaks”.  

Ruth was such fun, as we talked over the garden fence when hanging up our washing.  We learned cake decorating, played cribbage, shared birthdays, and supported one another through trying times.

Ruth could see the fun side of everything, especially the unexpected arrival of Roger’s mother on the occasion of Roger’s 40th birthday in our back yard.  We still laugh a lot at that memory, especially of the cake.  

Ruth was a good friend to so many, a wonderful wife and mother, and a loving grandmother to Olivia and Thomas, both named for her beautiful mum and dad, Olive and Tom.  She loved her church community in Thornhill.  

We’ll never forget Ruth.  She was a real treasure, an incredibly lovely woman, and a good and faithful friend.

I met Ruth at Thornhill united church. As a fellow nurse we shared that common bond that seems to unite nurses. We worked together on church committees and functions. She was a lovely woman with a lovely smile, a soothing voice and a ready laugh. My life was better for having known her. My prayers go out to her ever supportive family.

The years have passed since we met but we never forgot the good times we had when we lived in Park Vista.  We were newlyweds.  Then came Carolyn and Jason and Jamie and Darrell.  We remember we went camping one weekend in Haliburton and had so much fun.  We still have pictures of that weekend.  We were so sorry to hear of Ruths passing.  She was a lovely woman.  We are thinking of your family at this difficult time.  Take care of yourselves.   

Ruth and I go back to our young childhood. I have many wonderful memories of holidays at Brechin cottage and Port Severn. Family gatherings at their family home in Thornhill. She will always be in my heart and her smiling face will follow me always. Rest in peace Ruth in the welcoming arms of our Lord.

John and I are sad to hear of Ruth's passing. We knew her and her family at Almaguin campground, and were friends there for many years.  Condolences to Roger,  Caroline and Darrell and their families.

Dear Roger, Caroline, Darrell and family: I was heartbroken to hear about Ruth’s passing last week. I feel so honoured to have had the chance to work with Ruth and to have been her friend for the last 14 years. I first met Ruth in 2006, when she welcomed me to UHS and immediately became such a source of strength both personally and professionally. I learned so much from her. ..her knowledge, her values...her experience...her caring and passion for those that we served.  She always said that when she felt down or a little low energy, she would go and visit a client and that was all it took.  That is what energized her.  Helping people.  I will miss Ruth tremendously.  She had a powerful impact on my life and I am forever grateful   to have been her friend and her colleague.  My heart is with all of you.  May her memory be a blessing.  

Ruth cared.  It  is such a short sentence but it holds much meaning  about her huge heart.  If there was work to be done . . . Ruth was there.  If there were people to be helped . . . Ruth was there too.  If you needed support . . . she was also there.  She cared.  She also smiled and that warmed many  sad hearts & difficult situations.  We were so fortunate to have been a small part of Ruth’s life and we will miss her.  

Ruth was a neighbour on Charles Street in Thornhill what seems like a thousand years ago!!  She and her family were delightful neighbours and as we were the only two houses on the street we were great friends. Ruth and my Mom (who passed away with dignity too, last year) became firm Facebook friends in the last year's and Mom found joy in their reunion.  It was a true joy to know Ruth.  

Although I have not seen Ruth for some years, my thoughts are with her family as they transition to this new reality.     I was one of Ruth many colleagues from CNIB days and of course enjoy all of our laughs over those years.   We did endeavour to stay in touch following our CNIB careers ending but lost touch in the last decade.    I will never forgot Ruth laughter her ability to counsel you directly and so correctly      Most of all I treasure an very unique pair of earrings Ruth handmade for me out of bottle tops. Too personal to go much further in the description but for those of you who know Ruth. And her nursing background I will leave it for your imagination.     Wishing you nothing but peace at this time     Love ya ruth wherever you might be
