

FLEMMING ISLAND, Fla. | Aaron Matthew Hayes, age 41, of Flemming Island, Florida, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at home. A private family graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Williamson Cemetery with Father Jerry Deasy and Rev. Kenn Spencer officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2015, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia Moore Timian, William Jackson Moore, Sarah Jane Hayes and Robert Hayes; great-grandmother, Effie Angeline Moore Shirley; and great-grandfather, William Jackson Moore.
Survivors include his mother Judy Moore Hayes; brother, Michael Nathan Hayes (Kim); father, Randall Hayes; niece, Margaret Anne Hayes; nephew, Nathan Jonah Hayes; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Aaron deeply loved his family and they adored him. He was a kind and generous soul, putting others' needs before his own. He found pleasure in making others happy. Aaron never met a stranger. He enjoyed restoring historic houses and buildings. Aaron was an avid reader with a special interest in history. He was looking forward to a trip to Europe and Turkey that he planned for the summer. Aaron chose to live near the ocean where he felt a sense of spiritual inspiration. He will be terribly missed by his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Steve Cierocke, Jason Corley, Jake Halliday, Ron Maslen, Gabe Straiphorne, and Jason Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers are John Earl, Marion Shouse, Paul LoRusso, and Melinda Shouse.
