Annie Dean (Ann) Chism, age 86, passed away September 4, 2019, at the Forest Manor Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at the Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, with Rev. Gary Edge officiating. Burial will follow in the Bone Camp United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, directing. The family will receive visitors Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Trudie Chism and her brother, Thomas Eugene (T. E.) Chism.
She is survived by three brothers, Taylor Chism (Ann), Billy Chism (Mary Dell) and Robert Chism (Pat) and her sister in law, Nancy Chism in addition to 6 nieces and 3 nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Ann was born on June 27, 1933, and graduated from Tuscaloosa County High Class of 1951. She was employed by Gulf States Paper Corporation for 25 years and later at Wrights Bakery. She learned to play the piano at an early age and was a talented vocalist with a passion for church choir and southern gospel music. Ann enjoyed traveling extensively with her friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Chism, Ethan Chism, Tim Chism, Jeff Chism, Ryan Phillips, Brad Phillips, David Chism and Steven Fikes. Honorary Pallbearers will Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jennings, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Chism, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Chism, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Chism, Era Kelley, Jeanette Cook, Jean Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Brown, Julia Robinson, Jeanette Foley, Charlene Hix, Sara Brown, Naomi Weaver, Sara Sullivan, Louise Free, Evelyn Ellis, Margaret Livingston, James South and Stanley Sanford.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Regina Harrell and Tiffany Williams, CRNP, Debbie Miller, Geneva Lee, the staffs of Amedysis Home Health and Forest Manor Health and Rehab (especially Nora “Betty” Rice and Joelisa “JoJo” Bates ) for the special care they gave to Ann.
