

NORTHPORT – Annie Bell Poole, age 90, of Northport, died January 26, 2016, at Glen Haven Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Jerry Montgomery and Brother Terrell Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewell and Tempie Taylor Smith; her siblings, Lennie B. Duncan, William Smith, Lonnie Smith and LaFund Smith; and her husband, Ralph Poole.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Smith (James); sisters, Kathleen Thompson (Tommy L.) and Marie Hedrick; brother, J.B. Smith (Bernie); grandchildren, Kim Hudson (Will) and Scott Smith (Stefanie); and great-grandchildren, Abby Hudson and Kaitlyn Smith.
Known to her family and friends as “Granny”, Annie Bell was married to her late husband for 62 years. She was a member of Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for her entire life. Her love for God radiated through her life and glowing smile.
Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Will Hudson, Brad Pool, Gary Logan, Tommy L. Thompson and Stephen W. Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers are friends of Brownville and surrounding communities, members of Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, staff of Glen Haven Nursing Home and Southern Hospice Care
