Arnold Sanford passed away on Sunday January 17th 2021 at the age of 69. Visitation is Thursday January 21st from 11am to 1pm. followed by the funeral service at 1pm at Five Points Baptist Church in Northport Alabama. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wayland Sanford and his mother, Ruby Jones. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Reta Dunn Sanford, his three children, Arnold (Arnie) Sanford Jr. (Leaha); Wendy Sanford Perry (Larry Wayne); Brandi Sanford Hinkle (Patrick) and his six grandchildren; Gabe, Abby, Kadi Brooke, Chloe, Emma Claire and Colin; along with two sisters, Brenda S. Rayburn (Bill) and Anne S. Lavender (Paul). He is also survived by two very special nieces, Apryl Botto (Joe) and Amberly Mixon (Nathan) along with many other nieces and nephews.
Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior and he was eager to share this with others. Some of the fruits of his relationship with Christ were serving as a Deacon at Five Points Baptist Church, being a member of the Southern Baptist Association Disaster Relief Team; a Sunday School teacher at Forest Manor Nursing Home; and a member of the kitchen crew at Five Points Baptist Church. Arnold graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1969. He next joined the U.S. Airforce in 1972 and then attended Shelton State Technical College. He retired from Uniroyal Goodrich after several years of service.
Arnold was loved by his family, he was the best husband, father, brother, pawpaw and uncle that anyone could ask for. He will be missed on this earth but his entire family and all of his friends know that they will see him again in heaven in the presence of Christ Jesus.
