

Betty Price Malone, age 70, of Northport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Allen Rogglie officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her son, Staff Sergeant Bobby Joe Dickson, who was tragically taken from his family while serving our country. Others who have awaited her homecoming include her parents, Viola Price-Thornton and Thomas Roy Price, and stepfather, Ermon Thornton, brother-in-law, Tony Inman, nephew, Roland Inman, and special niece, Jan Addington.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hayward Malone; sons, Tommy (Brandy) Dickson and Todd (Renae) Malone; daughter, Deborah (John) Parrales; grandchildren, Bobbie Jo and Brody Dickson, Brianna Parrales, Danielle Malone, Caleb White, and Michael Malone; sister, Gladys Inman; and several nieces, nephews and many friends who love and cherish her memory.
Betty was a truly virtuous woman and her price far above rubies. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Holland, Bob Cook, Jim Pickering, Howard Tidmore, Aubrey McCarley, and Jeff Kirkley.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Carrolls Creek Baptist Church, Carolyn Pickering, John and Debbie Thompson, Mike and Samantha Inman, Robert and Joan Dozier, and Shirley Tidmore.
