
Billie Jean Camp, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, died Jan. 9, 2011, at Northport Medical Center-DCH. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home with Chaplain Gregory Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Wallace Camp; daughter, Sallie Joyce; sisters, Frances Higgenbotham, Irene Johns, and Izola Johns; and brothers, Troy Cannon and James Cannon.
Survivors include her daughter, Beryl Jean Adkisson (David) of Spanish Fort; sons, Andrew Camp (Chandra) of Pleasanton, Texas and Charles Camp (Rebecca) of Rockledge, Fla.; sister, Myra Dockery of Cleveland, Ohio; niece, Dorothy Warren; and grandchildren, Charles Camp, Ethan Camp, Virginia Polovich, David Adkisson, Katie Camp, Jaylan Camp, and Jordan Camp.
A native of New Lexington, Billie Camp spent her life as a military wife, mother, and homemaker. She raised and educated three children with her husband Wallace.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Camp, Charles Camp, David Adkisson, Keith Polovich, Floyd Dockery, and J. M. Kuykendall.
Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Stephen Browne.
