Billie Jean Winters

Billie Jean Winters, age 82, of Coker, died Nov. 14, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 1 p.m. today at Bethabara Baptist Church with Dr. John Kearns officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billie Sullivan; her mother, Mary Ruby Sullivan; her sisters, Inez Sullivan, Louise Sullivan, and her twin sister Lillie Dean Bates; her brothers, Troy Sullivan and James Sullivan; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Gilliland.

Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Gilliland and Barbara Knowles (Bryan); her son, Barry Winters (Elvira); her sisters, Edna Hardy and Annie Jane Love; her grandchildren, Jimmy Winters, Kenny Gilliland, Angie Gilliland, Joshua Boswell, Victor Boswell, Andrew Knowles, and Tricia Knowles; and her great-grandchildren, Shane Gilliland, Macon Clark, Anthony Avery, and Mallory Avery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Kenny Gilliland, Jimmy Winters, Joshua Boswell, Victor Boswell, Shane Gilliland, Macon Clark, Anthony Avery, and Andrew Knowles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
