Billy Bagwell

COKER - Billy Joe Bagwell, age 84, of Coker, Ala., passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at his home. A celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Tindle officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017, at the funeral home with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing the service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Oliver Bagwell and Thelma Jessie Bagwell and brother, Oliver Bagwell.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bagwell of Coker; daughter, Tammy Waldrop (Robert) of Northport, Ala.; son, Billy Joe Bagwell, Jr. (Lisa) of Northport; grandchildren, Bradley Kenneth Lee (Katie) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Garth Lee of Coker, Ala., Amy Warner (Jeremy) of Dupont, Wash. and Rebecca Waldrop; and great-granddaughter, Chloe Warner.

He served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 32 years of service. He loved his family and his grandchildren. He loved to fish and watch Alabama football. He loved his kids with all his heart and he will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Sims, Donald Bagwell, Leonard Bailey, Mitchell Bagwell, Robert Waldrop, Garth Lee, Bradley K. Lee and Lewis Ray.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Mt. Olive Community, Hospice and Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center.
