

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Hardy (Jack) Marler III; parents, Brewer and Mary Holman; sister, Margie Addison, and brothers, Ben and Joe Holman.
Survivors are her sister, Sue Cooper; sisters-in-law, Kate Holman and Janice Holman; nephew, Bruce Holman and nieces, Debra Walden, Pam Bowden, Linda Luker, Diane Stein, Jan Bobo, and Lynn Rodgers. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bonnie (Gerald) Junkin; niece, Jennifer Junkin Syx and great nephews, Daniel Hardy Syx and David Michael Syx.
Brenda was born on February 9, 1944, in Titus, AL. A graduate of Wetumpka high school, her career was in accounting and bookkeeping. She worked for Jim Wilson Real Estate in Montgomery AL for many years, and ultimately retired from the Alabama Commission on Higher Education in Linden AL.
Brenda was married to John Hardy Marler III for 34 beautiful years. After his spinal cord injury, Brenda took impeccable care of Jack full time for twelve years. They were active members of First Baptist Church Demopolis, and later Northport Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00am at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Steelman officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00am, with a reception following the service.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Walden, Billy Bowden, Bruce Holman, Frank Lee, and Shawn Syx.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the JOY Sunday School Class from Northport Baptist Church, the amazing care team of Station 1 at Heritage Health and Rehabilitation, staff of HomeRN, and Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Northport Baptist Church, 1004 Main Avenue, Northport AL 35476.
