On July 3, 2023, at the age of 63, Bryon stepped into eternity, leaving behind the pain & suffering of this life to behold the eternal glory of Heaven. As Hebrews 9:27 says, his days had been appointed by the Lord & we take comfort in knowing God's Plan for his life had been fulfilled. Our hearts are left to grieve his absence, but our sorrow is not without hope, knowing we each have been afforded, by the Grace & Mercy of a loving God , the opportunity to join Bryon in eternal celebration when our days on earth come to an end.
A home-going Celebration is planned for Monday, July 10, at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 10am, services begin at 11am & will conclude at the graveside.
Awaiting Bryon in Glory were loved ones including his mother, Carolyn; his grandmothers Essie & Helen; his grandfathers Arie & Billy; & the mother of his children, Kathy.
Bryon was a man of many talents and trades. He set an example of hard work, dedication, & commitment to both his family & his coworkers. His "never back down" spirit inspired bravery & perseverance in others. There was very little that Bryon could not do, and even less that he wouldn't attempt at least once to accomplish. Many are the times when he successfully pushed the boundaries, stretched the limits, & challenged the standards beyond anything we could have imagined.
Bryon was loved & revered by many, and those of us who knew him best will never cease to be grateful for the blessing of his love & friendship. Among those who remain to cherish his memory are his father, Floyd ; wife Debbie; daughter Niki (April) & husband Andy; son Rusty & wife Tera; sister Lori & husband Greg; step-children Steven, Courtney (Mike), & Danielle; grandchildren Andrea (Kyle), Austin (Cameron), Alaina, Kylie, & Rylan; step grandchildren Cassie, Nevaeh, & Gabriel; great grandson Brantlee; his nieces Katie & Lauren; & his nephew Duncan.
As we celebrate Bryon's life, we also pause to give thanks to many who have walked this journey alongside our family over the past 195 days including Price Construction; Dr. Eudaily, Dr. Steele, Dr. McElwee, Jimmy Stout, staff of CICU, CPCC, & the Special Care Unit at UAB; Dr. Burdett, Dr. Lehman, Nurse Alma, & staff of Northport Rehab; Dr. Berry, Dr Sidiqi, & staff of Davita Dialysis; Pop's Shop; and Family & Friends of the Yellow Creek Community. In addition, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to some very special "brothers" in Bryon's life who will lay his earthly body to rest - Richard Childers, Austin Simmons, Duncan Burnett, Greg Burnett, Oviatt Cunningham, Cody Grammer, Mike Herring, Mike Miller, & Joe Tierce.
James 4:14 reminds us that our physical lives are temporary - a vapor that exists today & fades tomorrow. While we do not know when ours will drift into eternity, we can be confident today in the permanent home that awaits us. Bryon finalized those plans a few moths ago, and as we commemorate his life & reflect on the ways in which he meant so much to each of us, more than anything we celebrate his decision to place his life in the hands of Jesus. Romans 10:9.
