Bueford B. Freeman

NORTHPORT - Bueford B. Freeman, age 93, of Northport, Ala., died May 16, 2018. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Smith, Bro. Jerry Montgomery and Dr. Steve Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Vaudeen Bobo Freeman; six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Freeman Boardman (Shelby); son, Bura Randolph Freeman (Susie); sisters, Margie Payne and Gladys Wilson; brother, Armour Freeman; eight grandchildren; and a multitude of great and great-great-grandchildren. He was employed at Gulf States Paper and as a school bus mechanic at the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education. PawPaw loved family, hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a member of Sand Springs Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Joe Boardman, Cole Freeman, John Scruggs, Jonathan Price, Jimmy Shelton and Dale Christian. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Joe Freeman, Doug Wyers, Dr. Richard Shamblin (his Nurse Yolanda and Nurse Practitioner (Tracy), Employees of Hospice of West Alabama, Employees of DCH Regional Medical Center MICU and 5 South, Sand Springs Methodist Church, Neighbors of Highway 171 and Sand Springs Community, Greg Gettings, Family of Tony Stough, Arbor Springs Baptist Church and Alacare Home Health Nurses, Therapists and Staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International.

Yeah I remember going up to their house I know he is a hard-working man I knew you worked at the paper mill. Remember are you at the hard-working man I always had a garden. We go up there with uncle Charles sit around and talk and shell peas and there shuck corn and everything else. We go to Sand Springs Methodist Church I always see him but his wife there and his son and daughters you're very religious man. We always went up there to the church.
