Carol E Rutherford

A memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church, located at 3481 Shiver De Freeze Road, Berry, AL 35546. Officiating the service will be Bro. Joe Jones and Bro. Clyde Stevens.

Carol is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sandra Martin and Belinda Bell; her special granddaughter, Courtney; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kellie W. Rutherford, and her parents, Odar and Tuppie L. Jones.

Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Carol graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1966. She went on to attend Alverson Draughon Business College in Birmingham and later began a fulfilling career as an insurance agent. Known for her warmth and dedication, Carol enjoyed working closely with her clients until her retirement in 2019.

Outside of work, Carol had many passions. She loved reading and had books in nearly every room of her home. She also had a green thumb and took great pride in tending to her flowers. Her pets were dear to her heart, and she was a devoted Alabama football fan. Carol also enjoyed thrifting and going to garage sales with her sisters, often adding to her cherished collections of teacups, cow and chicken figurines, and decorative chests. She was her grandmother's, Padetta Jones, special angel because Padetta never seen any wrong in Carol.

Carol’s kindness, laughter, and love for the simple joys in life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
