Charles Graham

NORTHPORT - Charles Howard Graham, Jr., age 84, of Northport, Ala., died November 16, 2017, at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Scott McQueen officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Graham, Sr.; mother, Bernice Ruth Graham; brother, Edward Eugene Graham; son, Dan Collier Spencer; grandson, Brandon Wade Skelton; and his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ruth Graham.

Survivors include his daughters, Dana Skelton, Shannon Nece (Russell), Tammy D'Avignon and Kristin Sexton (Mike); fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Charlie was born in Fairfield, Alabama on January 21, 1933 and raised in Wylam. He served his country in the United State Army before devoting 21 years of Service to the Alabama Department of Public Safety. Charlie served at various posts in the State of Alabama and ended his career in Tuscaloosa with the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.

He was known lovingly by his grandchildren as "Big Daddy".

Pallbearers will be Justin Lawley, Christopher D'Avignon, Conner Sparks, Braxton Hartsfield, Nicholas Sparks and Seth D'Avignon.

Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Larry Skelton and staff, Dr. G. Ramdeen and the Alabama Department of Public Safety.Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Brown-Service Funeral Home, Northport, AL.
