TUSCALOOSA | Charles L. Sparks, age 90, of Tuscaloosa, died July 16, 2015, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn. with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignified Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his son, Charles L. Sparks, Jr.; sisters, Dora Kate Adams and Dorothy Roberson; and brothers, Bill Sparks and George Sparks.Survivors include his wife, Allene T. Sparks; daughter, Charlotte S. Bratten; brother, Jimmy Sparks; grandchildren, Shawn Sparks, J.D. Bratten, Diedra S. Cortez, Mary Ann Bratten, and Anthony Sparks; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan, and Logan Sparks, Abram Bratten, Nicole, Tina, and Cindy Cortez, and Gabriel and Jacob Blair.Honorary pallbearers are the Sunday School class at Five Points Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Gideons International.
