Clarence P. (Sonny) Olive Sr.

Sonny is preceded in death by his wife, Martha LaFaye Olive; brothers Oliver Olive, James Olive; sisters Katie Lee Kelly, Louise Brueggerman, Katherine Skelton, Ann Moore, and Bonnie Olive; and daughter-in-law Donna Olive.

He is survived by his children Clarence P. (Buddy) Olive, Jr. and wife Pam, Rhonda Stauffer and husband Mark, and John Olive; grandchildren Brandon Olive and wife Ashley, Lacey Nowetner and husband Casey, Blair Stauffer-Fetting and husband Derek, Jeremy Robinson and wife Kaitlyn, Corey Robinson and wife Adriana, Sydney Stauffer, Dustin Olive and Shania Olive; great grandchildren Hunter Olive, Drake Olive, Luke Olive, Harper Olive, Bowen Nowetner, Bristol Nowetner, Rex Robinson, Laynie Robinson and Annie Robinson; and brother Douglas Olive; and sisters Barbara Hudson and Nan Davis.

Sonny grew up in a farming family in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama and never lost his love of planting, growing and working outside. He moved to Pasadena, Texas in 1964, and spent over 30 years working at Lubrizol Corporation on the Houston Ship Channel before retiring in 1997. Sonny loved singing, playing guitar, coaching sports, and he was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home in Northport, Alabama on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 9:00 AM, followed by Funeral services at 10:00 AM.
