Claude O. Rogers

NORTHPORT | Claude O. Rogers, age 86, of Northport, died August 18, 2014, at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2014, at El Bethel Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Rogers; daughter, Patsy Lake; son, Ricky Rogers; sisters, Bertha Maddox, Trannie Mae Skelton, and Bay Gray; and brothers, James Rogers and Victor Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. Rogers; daughters, Sandra Beams and Becky Campbell (Chuck); sisters, Gertha Elliott and Dessiree Smith; brother, Waymon Rogers (Nazalee); and 19 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Campbell, Heath Beams, Marty Hagler, Kenneth McMillian, James McMillian, and Zachary Mills.

Honorary pallbearers are Samantha Volunteer Fire Dept., Dr. Robinson, Tuscaloosa County Road and Bridge Dept., Samantha community, and Debra and David Hicks.
