Claudia L Jackson

A visitation for Claudia will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM with Pastor Sam Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Claudia was born in Germany on September 7, 1953. She is preceded in death by her father, Leonard Dawson, Jr. and mother, Donna Mae Beachtol. Survivors include her husband, John W. Jackson of Tuscaloosa, AL.; sister, Cheryl Black (George) of Gulfport, MS.; brother, Leonard L. Dawson III (Linda) of Crosby, TX.; and many other family, friends, and church brothers and sisters in Christ whom she loved dearly.

Claudia had a servant’s heart that came from her love and faith in Jesus Christ. She loved people from her heart, helping them as she could and sharing her faith in doing so. She was happiest when she was listening to and singing old gospel music, reading her Bible and going to church. She also loved cooking, flowers, little dogs and Christmas! She was known for her kindness, and willingness to serve others with a passion to bring joy which she lived out in humility. For the joy of the Lord was her strength. Now her joy Is made complete as she is in the presence of the One who brought her such joy.

Honorary pallbearers are her church family at Rice’s Valley Baptist Church as well as many other friends who were loved and touched by Claudia. In addition to the church at Clara Vernor, Brother Scott and her beloved friends there.

As we grieve Claudia’s passing, we can rejoice as we have comfort and assurance that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” That truth is now a reality for our sweet friend Claudia.
