

Doris Mae Ramsey May, age 85, of Northport, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at Druid City Hospital. Services will be 11 A.M. Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Wooton and Pastor Jonathan Arroyo officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2010, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Early Ramsey; mother, Roberta Bagget Ramsey; husband Albert Wright May, Jr.; brothers, Edwin Murel Ramsey of Tallahassee, FL, Jessie (Jack) Anderson Ramsey of Dallas, Texas and Dr. Charles Clayton Ramsey of New Orleans, LA; sister, Faith Vivian Rushing of Northport; sisters-in-law, Betty Lou May and Clarese Hayes; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. May, Sr.
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Elizabeth May and Stacy Delyn May, both of Tuscaloosa, and Lisa Marie Riley of Duncanville; sons, Albert Wright May, III of Northport, Charles Edwin May of Owens Cross Roads and Albert Brian May of Coker; sisters-in-law, Nina Mayton of Tuscaloosa, Joann Mathis of Birmingham and Susan Swanson of South Carolina; brother-in-law, Franklin May of Lufkin, Texas; grandchildren, Amber May, Gavin May, Janie Martin, Christopher Martin, Rhianon May; great-granddaughter, Jasmine McVay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1944 and was employed by the BF Goodrich plant and Olan Mills. She spent most of her life as an excellent home maker and southern cook.
Pallbearers will be Larry Rushing, Randy Rushing, Mike Cunningham, Brian May, Joey Williamson and Billy Ivy.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Leonard Jones and staff of Tuscaloosa Internal Medicine, Dr. James Corder, staff of ICU 4th and 6th floor at Druid City Hospital, and staff at Amedysis Hospice and Amedysis Home Health. Thank you for your loving care of our dear mother.
