Dorothy Lax

NORTHPORT Dorothy Hilda Lax, age 78, of Northport, died August 28, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church with The Rev. Dr. Catherine Collier and The Rev. David Meginniss officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Randall Hall, Christ Episcopal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Derek Lax; daughters, Christine Cover (James) and Janet Chambers (John); son, Robert Lax; and grandchildren, Mary-Caroline Cover, Sarah Cover, Charlotte Cover, Samantha Chambers, Harrison Chambers and Hayley Lax.

Dorothy had many stories to tell of life growing up in England during World War II. She loved painting, her animals (especially her dogs) and her flower garden. Dorothy and Derek moved to Tuscaloosa in 1989- she said it was the best move they ever made.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Education account for Hayley Lax in Memory of Dorothy Lax at Tuscaloosa Teachers Credit Union.
