Eddie Rex Tilley

Eddie Rex Tilley, “Rex”, 94, of Coker, Alabama, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 11, 2026, at his residence in Coker, Alabama. Services will be conducted at Sunset Funeral Home, Northport, Alabama. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM, with a graveside service to immediately follow.

A native of Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, he was the son of Royal Taber Tilley and Eldorado Tunnell Tilley. Rex was the oldest of seven siblings. After graduating high school, Rex joined the Navy. After serving in the military, Rex married in 1955. Rex loved the Lord, enjoyed time with family and friends, history and woodworking.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Royal and Eldorado Tilley; four brothers, Rewdell, Ronald, Royal Jr., and Revis, and two sisters, Romona Winters and Robbie Erikson.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Eddie Lou Gilliland Tilley; son: Steven Tilley (Debbie) of Coker Alabama; daughter, Connie Oney (Dennis) of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, Garrett Tilley (Anna) of Coker, Alabama, Alyssa Mathis (Jacob) of Crossett, Arkansas, Amber Crossno (David) of Fayette, Alabama, Sarah Thornberg (David) of Bartow, Florida, and Adam Oney of Bartow Florida; great-grandchildren: Rhett, Sawyer, and Tucker, all of Coker, Alabama; Hadley, Quinn and Landry all of Crossett, Arkansas; Elisabeth and Caden of Fayette, Alabama and Damen, Dahlia, Issac, Ava and Dakota, all of Bartow, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Garrett Tilley, Jacob Mathis, David Crossno, Phillip Gilliland, Randall Ray, and Jason Gilliland.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bethany Church and Amedysis Hospice.
