
Ethel Louise Brown, age 86, of Northport, died Feb. 5, 2011, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home with Ron Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilda Burns; brother, Charles Burns; and sisters, Minnie Lee Guyard and Alla Mae Hartley.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Morgan Smith of Northport; brothers, John S. Burns and Houston E. Burns of Northport; granddaughter, Ginger Smith Pritchett (Rodney) of Pelham; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Morgan and Christian Keith of Pelham.
Ethel loved her family and enjoyed working in her yard. She especially enjoyed when Hannah and Christian visited with her. She was a wonderful, caring person. She was the best mother and friend to her daughter and will truly be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Dockery, Ray Jennings, Jim Hinton, Jack Nicholson, Bob Pugh, and Cecil Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors in Huntington Meadows, former co-workers at Bryce Hospital, members of Five Points Baptist Church, employees of Hospice of West Alabama, Dee Dockery, Roger and Connie Cox, Judy Watson, Faye Earnest, Dora Hobson, Nancy Whittaker, Kathleen Pugh, Dr. Ariel Anguiano, Dr. Matthew Carnes, and employees of DCH Cancer Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
