Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Maude & Allen Lott; husband, Thomas Madison Dunn; and sisters Lois Napier (Maxwell), Myrtis Davis (Frank), and Inez Rawls (Ralph).

Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Ikard and son-in-law, Steve Ikard; grandchildren, Tommy Ikard (Angela) of Jackson MS, Stephen Ikard (Catherine) of Tuscaloosa AL, David Ikard (Reagen) of Tuscaloosa AL and John Michael Ikard (Sarah Grace) of Birmingham AL; great grandchildren Bill, Lewis & Jack Ikard, Emma & Ellis Ikard, Tucker & Brady Ikard and sister Elsie Williams of Hattiesburg MS and brothers Winfred Lott (Becky) of Jackson MS and Audler Lott of Sumrall MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was born in Sumrall MS to Maude and Allen Lott on January 8, 1924. She was the middle child of seven children. She grew up on a farm with her siblings during the depression. After high school, she worked in Jackson MS as a dental assistant and met her future husband who was a practicing surgeon after serving in the Navy during WWII. She and Thomas Madison Dunn were married for 54 years and lived in St. Petersburg FL where they resided until moving to Tuscaloosa in 2004.

Evelyn was a homemaker and loved sewing, painting, cooking and entertaining friends in their home. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren and those close to her called her Mimi. More important than what she accomplished was who she was and how she lived life. She was always loving, always kind and always patient and never complained. You could not help but love her. Her memories will be reflected, not only in her paintings, but in her life as a godly wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. We will miss her dearly.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Ikard, Stephen Ikard, David Ikard, John Michael Ikard, Jerry Napier and Jim Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim & Stephanie McGhee, Dr. Keith DeBell, and caregivers, Irene Wynn, Pat Sudduth, Tina Gibson, Faye Kelly, Debra Wilson, Bessie Cameron, Tiffany German and Ollie Finklea.

Our love, condolences and prayers are with the Ikard family. It was a privilege to know and sit in the presence of Mimi...
Her beautiful smile was luminous. Her sweet soft spoken words we will miss. Yet, we celebrate Mrs. Dunn's life and the legacy she left behind for her family and friends. But most of all, we will celebrate and cherish her examples of how to love and be a woman of GRACE and ELEGANCE!!! Thank you Tina for sharing Mimi with us over the years when she was in your care. To God be the Glory......
