The Harris Family: I would like to offer my condolences to all of you. You do not know me, but I met flavious when I was a young student at the Univ. of Ala. and began working at Bryce Hospital in the bakery in 1959. I have fond memories of working there for several years and remember my co-workers well. Flavious was one of my favorites. He taught me what I needed to do in the bakery and was very kind to me. Yes, he even taught me how to play real checkers! I thought I knew how until I played him and then it became my challenge to get a draw with him. I also remember his brother, Lou, who worked there and was a very nice man. I know you have very fond memories of Flavious. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

We are deeply saddened by your loss.  I was very close to my pawpaw and loved him so much so I can understand the sadness you feel.  It's so hard to let go of someone you love so much, and knowing he is no longer suffering and at peace in the presence of His Lord is a great comfort.  There will be days when the loss will seem overwhelming, but on those days, remember the good things that he brought into your life and be happy for them.  That will help you the most.  We are praying for you all.
