NORTHPORT Flora Mae Simmons Moore, age 81, of Northport, died August 29, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Oswalt officiating. Burial will follow in Simmons Cemetery in Fayette County with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Moore; parents, George and Lula Simmons; sister, Virginia Lewis; and brother, Gary Simmons.
Survivors include her son, James Moore (Sheila); daughter, Patricia Armstrong (Ervin); brothers, William Simmons, Boyce “Bo” Simmons, Derwood Simmons, Donald Simmons, and George Simmons; sisters, Glenda Johnson, Martha Spuropulas, and Linda Henderson; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donald Burroughs, Reggie Banks, Joshua Willis, Todd Collins, Andy Simmons, and Mike Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of the Windom Springs Baptist Church and community.
