Frances W. Frederick, age 97, of Moundville, died Dec. 11, 2011, at home. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Falls officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S. J. Frederick; her parents, Pleasant and Nora Willcutt; her brothers, Eugene, Cleave, Buford, Barney, Cleophy, and Lavon Willcutt; and sons, Leon and Synard Scoggins.
Survivors include her daughter, Edith Price; sons, James L. Scoggins and Coy Ray Scoggins; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was employed in the Alabama Shipyard as a welder during World War II and was a manager of Wells Rest Home for many years with many jobs in between while raising five children.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church cemetery upkeep at Tuscaloosa Teachers Credit Union on McFarland Blvd. in Northport.
