A native of Savannah, Ga., Georgia attended Birmingham Southern College, graduating with a degree in nursing. Georgia spent over 25 years working for the Tuscaloosa County Health Department, where she touched innumerable lives before her retirement in 2016.
An avid reader, animal lover, amazing cook and lover of all things Elvis, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She and her husband Charles were members of Christ Harbor Church in Northport, Ala. where she enjoyed time spent in Bible study with her friends.
Georgia is survived by her husband of 54 years Charles; sons, Edward (Lara) and Michael; daughter, Angela Garner (Steve); and sister, Patti Ridgeway (Darrell). She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brittany, Savannah and Tess and two great-grandchildren, Ian and Aerin.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff of DCH Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate care. The family would also like to thank their friends and extended family for their support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 12, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Sunset Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
