Imogene N. James

NORTHPORT - Imogene N. James, age 82, of Northport, passed away July 25, 2017, at Hospice of West Alabama. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home with Wayne Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Provider, directing the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raiford James; father, Evan P. Nelson; mother, Mary E. Nelson; brother, Harold Nelson; and sister, Melba Guin.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Haley; son, Van James (Sheila); brother, Billy Nelson; grandchildren, Jonathan Haley (Jackie), Brandon James (Brittany); Brittany Grissett and Delaina Jones (Brent); and many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

She was a loving mother that loved her grandkids, family and most of all her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a longtime member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She was loved and cared for by her special family at Hosea's Care during her final years.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Haley, Brandon James, Jacob Haley and Jonah James.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
