

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kelly T. and Della T. Tucker; three brothers, Willard, Kelly B, and Ken Tucker; and three sisters, Eugenia Wellman, Miriam Haas, and Joyce Colson.
Survivors include his spouse of 64 years, Ruth Hollingsworth Tucker; one daughter, Sally Price of Birmingham; two sons, Tommy (Rebecca) of Newnan, Ga., and Brian (Mary Lou) of Tuscaloosa; seven grandchildren, Matthew Price (Beth), Griffin Price, Kathryn Hanson (Zac), Ross Tucker (Amanda), Robert Tucker (Candice), Will Tucker, and Mary Ruth Tucker; and four great-grandchildren, Samantha Price, Shepherd Hanson, Junia Hanson, Abraham Hanson, and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1941 and served in World War II with the United States Army Air Force as a B29 tail gunner in the Pacific theatre. Upon his return he attended the University of Alabama. In 1949, he joined Southern Airways as Station Manager at the Tuscaloosa Municipal Airport and later retired with Northwest Airlines after working 35 years in the airline industry.
He was a longtime member of Northwood Hills Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, Training Union Director and teacher, and Deacon for 50 years.
He loved all sports and touched many lives when he coached Little League baseball and church-league softball for many years in the Northport area.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Northwood Hills Baptist Church in Northport, with arrangements by Sunset Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to Northwood Hills Baptist Church, 3463 Highway 69 North, Northport, Alabama 35473, or a charity of their choice
