A native of Alabama, Jackie graduated from Gardendale High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama in 1975. During his college years, he was a proud member of the Million Dollar Band, where he played the trumpet. A lifelong supporter of Crimson Tide athletics, he loved spending his free time cheering on Alabama sports teams.
Jackie enjoyed a successful career with the Keebler Company, where he served as a distribution manager for the Midwestern region. Over the years, he was honored with multiple awards recognizing his exceptional efficiency and dedication to customer service.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dr. Cathy Ayers; several nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Louise Ayers, and his sister, Viola Ayers.
