Caddell was born April 9, 1960, in Fairfield, to Marlin and Myra Caddell. He was an avid hunter and fisherman from a young age, who loved watching, reading and talking about the sports with everyone.
Married in 1981, James was married for 40 years to the love of his life, Denise Caddell. He loved his family very much and worked hard at Winn Dixie in various positions at several different stores for 37 years to care and provide for them.
James' two granddaughters, Nadia and Nora Caddell, were a source of great joy to him. Some of his best days in retirement were getting to play and watch them.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin and Myra Caddell; an infant brother, Robert Caddell; his sister, Rachel Caddell; and his nephew, Brian McCormick.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Denise Caddell; his son, Marlin Caddell and daughter-in-law, Misty; sisters Roberta Milwee (Stan), Dianne Caddell, Marline Kellum (Rob) and Cheryl Perkins (Byrne); as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Due to the current health pandemic, the family is foregoing a service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sav-a-Life Tuscaloosa or Lifeline Children's Services in Birmingham.
