He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Taylor; father, Elbert R. Taylor; and sisters, Sara Mills, Eloise Gilliand, Beth Gaddy and brothers, Milton and Elbert Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Judah Taylor of Tuscaloosa; daughters, Debbie Thompson (Greg) and Melinda Phillips (Timmy), both of Tuscaloosa, and Anita Clark (Randall) of Berry; sons, Rick Taylor (Angie) of Tuscaloosa, Knox McMillan (Sue) of Boise, Idaho, Lee McMillan (Kristin) of Ozark, Ala., Allen McMillan (Kelley) of Tuscaloosa; and Andy McMillan (Missey) of Louisville, Ky.; brothers, Jerry Taylor (Jean) and Donald Taylor (Mattie), both of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Lucas Phillips, Miranda Phillips Craft, Colby Thompson, Chase Thompson, Josh Jones and Evan Jones, all of Tuscaloosa, Candace Thompson of Nashville, Tenn., Evan and Fuller McMillan of Ozark, Trin and Delaney Sumlar of Ozark, Knox, Mary Stuart and Sarah Elizabeth McMillan of Louisville, Ky. Anna and Allie McMillan of Tuscaloosa great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tucker and Jack Jones of Tuscaloosa, Sadie Craft of Northport, Knox Thompson of Tuscaloosa and Brayer Thomas of Louisville, Ky.
Jim was born October 20, 1939 to Rachel and Elbert Taylor in Buhl. He went to County High in Northport, Ala. and later joined the United States Navy.
Jim was an avid fisherman. He loved to fish for crappy and loved to take people fishing and show them how to fish.
For over 30 years, Jim owned and operated Jim Taylor Transmission on Highway 69N in Northport.
He married Carole Judah Taylor on May 25, 1991 in Northport, Ala. They were married for 27 years. He liked to dance with Carole at PARA dances and went on many PARA trips with her.
Pallbearers will be Coby Thompson, Chase Thompson, Kyle Craft, Josh Jones, Evan Jones and Fuller McMillan.
