James was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann Fordham Wesson; his mother-in-law, Edith Booth Fordham; his father, James Henry Wesson; his mother, Dollie Dees Argo; his brothers, Paul Wesson, Joseph Wesson, William Wesson and Jack Wesson; and his sisters, Carolyn Wesson White, Louise Gothard, and Nellie Patricia Wesson Brown.
James leaves behind his loving family, including his son, James Roy Wesson Jr., affectionately known as Jamie, and his wife, Susan Regina Wesson, along with his granddaughter, Lindsay Nicole Wesson, and grandson, James Matthew (Matt) Wesson, all of Fosters, Alabama. He is also survived by his son, Toby Wayne Wesson, and grandsons Andrew Connor Wesson, Jon Brady Wesson, and Remington Grady Wesson, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; daughter, Traci Logan (Robbie) of Cottondale, Alabama; grandchildren, Taylor Gilliland, Caitlyn Logan, and Haylee Logan, and his great-granddaughter, Berkleigh Layne Gilliland; his brother, Donnie Wesson (Deb) of Chehalis, Washington and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A proud retiree of Local 372 of the Plumbers and Pipefitters, James dedicated many years to his trade. He was a familiar and cherished presence in the Holt community, where he was loved by many.
Visitation for James will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm with Bro. Tim May officiating.
